I am an educator, having taught elementary school and learning disabilities in middle and high school. I have always enjoyed writing and thought it would be great to pursue free lance upon retirement from the education field
update: It is just after Christmas and I have published 31 Hubs. My second Hub, Frightful Foods For Halloween Parties won a Hub of the Day, and later a HubNugget award! I have had 2 additional nominations for HubNugget one of which earned a second HubNugget Award.
Writing on HubPages has sharpened my skills and increased my confidence. I haven't found a niche yet, I am all over the place. But arts and crafts, creative cooking, gardening and holidays....and of course topics on education are what I enjoy writing about the most.
